Behind The Camera....
As a native Kentuckian, Ed Newell, a Winchester, KY based landscape photographer has a great love of the outdoors along with a passion for photographing Kentucky's natural beauty. Having explored different genres of photography, it became apparent to him that his personal satisfaction came in photographing natural landscape scenes. His inspiration comes from his love of the outdoors and our natural surroundings.
A normal day's shoot can begin as early as 3 or 4 a.m. With camera gear in tow, he heads off to a predetermined location and arrives as the new day is breaking. Rising early is his preferred time of day for trying to capture a scene with beautiful early morning light or fog banks, which can create a special mood for landscape images. Late in the afternoon is also a time when you may find Ed trying to capture the light for an inspiring image of nature.
Ed tries to connect with the environment through his photography. With landscape photography, there is never a lack of subject material for around every bend in the road, the Bluegrass State is full of scenic photo opportunities. Ed hopes that his photographs will evoke for the viewer an appreciation of the beauty and diversity of nature.
Also, Ed is a juried artist of the Kentucky Arts Council's Kentucky Crafted Program. For inquiries please use the contact page or feel free to call 859-749-3660. You can also follow Ed's work and post on his Facebook business page.
